Colleges Against Cancer will host a spaghetti feed at Pub 500by Dannie Higginbotham

Colleges Against Cancer is trying something new with an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Feed to raise money for cancer research.
CAC President Zack Thieman said he thought the event would be a good idea because it gives people an extra incentive to donate.
"You can eat spaghetti and fight cancer," Thieman said. "What more could you want?"
This is the first spaghetti feed for the group.
"I talked to Pub 500 and asked them about what fundraiser would work best for our group," Thieman said. "This is what we came up with."
The event will include tables for advocacy, silent auctions of gift cards and gift baskets and all you-can-eat-spaghetti with garlic bread and options for meatless sauce. CAC will also sell t-shirts at the event for $10.
"They say 'Cancer, when I think about you…I touch myself," Thieman said.
This is Thieman's third year with CAC.
He joined because his mom died of breast cancer when he was 15. He wanted to help fight back and make a difference.
Thieman said one positive about the feed is getting people like himself together.
"It's going to be a good time to hang out with people who share a common goal," he said.
CAC has sold more than 40 tickets so far.
"We're pretty optimistic and hope to have a good turnout," Thieman said. "We want to be able to show people we are here on campus fighting cancer and raise more money for research."
The Pub 500 Spaghetti Feed will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door. For more information contact cac@mnsu.edu
